I’ve enjoyed crocheting for (omg, literally) decades, but it was only a couple of years ago that I stumbled across Tunisian Entrelac and it has rapidly become my obsession! I realised that as well as creating eye-catching checked patterns, it could be used for a huge variety of geometric designs, including rectangles, diamonds, triangles, stars in all types of combinations.
If you haven’t tried Tunisian Entrelac before, I strongly urge you to give a go because it is so addictive! It’s much easier than crochet to count the number of stitches in a row as each stitch has a loop on the hook. ‘Entrelac’ refers to a pattern of small shapes (rather than long rows) so there is generally no need to purchase a Tunisian hook. And, you don’t need to master a long list of stitches in order to produce stunning effects. All my designs use only one stitch: Tunisian Simple Stitch.
