Update 3/18/25
I regret having only one blurry photo of my daughter in the beret. She was traveling and sent a video which is the source of the photo. Plan on getting quality photohoot of said daughter in the beret and posted soon!

I custom designed Artist Paint Palette Beret as a gift for my daughter, Katie’s 33rd birthday. I was inspired by a publicity photo of 1930s actress Marion Davies wearing such a beret. My version has a modern style of paint palette like the white acrylic ones at the art store. The palette is knit flat, has written instructions along with a chart. Paint circles may be knitted or crochet. The beret itself is knit in the round with 6-section construction on top. The Caron Simply Soft Brites yarn colors remind me of Katie’s eye-catching paintings. Used royal blue for the beret; fuschia, yellow, purple, green and teal as paint circles. The curves of the palette shape need a soft, flexible yarn, so I picked the Yarn Bee Hint of Silk I’d used before. A fun touch is real paint brushes slipped through knit loops of the palette.
