Inspired by the costumes of Arya Stark and Sandor Clegane (The Hound) in the TV series “Game of Thrones”, the shawl consists of two patterns which are easy to memorize and to knit but still have just the right amount of intricacy to keep you interested until the last stitch.

Arya and the Hound is knitted as an asymmetrical triangle which blocks out with slightly curved edges. It starts at one corner with an easy-to-knit textured two-color lace pattern with pulled over stitches. The pattern is worked with one color per row — no stranding work is required.

The second part adds contrast with garter stitches and impressive “cording” rows made with elongated crossover stitches. The edges have a neat I-cord finish which rounds out the look.

Dimensions: 188 cm (74˝) wingspan length, 100 cm (39.5˝) maximum depth

In accordance with the original inspiration, I chose dark, earthy colors for the shawl, but it will also look stunning in brighter colors. Try partnering a long gradient yarn with a solid color for a stunning effect.
