The Athens Collar Cardigan is a drop-shoulder style cardigan featuring classic and lovely Aran textures with a softly curved collar as its main highlight.
The fabric isn’t too thick, making it ideal for cool weather.

The white sample is size XS with bubble stitches included, while the brown sample is size XL without bubbles.
Personally, I prefer an oversized fit, so I think the XL size looks better on the model with a 90 cm (35.4 in) bust, though she also likes the XS size.

Recommended sizing:
I suggest choosing a size with about 25–30 cm (10–12”) of positive ease from your actual bust measurement.
The sleeves in the XS sample are slightly shorter than the instructions.

To assist beginners who may find it difficult to read charts in the repeated seed stitch short row shaping section, the full rows are shown without relying on repeat indicators. Simply follow the chart as it is.
For the lower body, repeat instructions are not charted, just continue following the previously established pattern.

CONSTRUCTION
The cardigan is worked top-down, beginning with the saddle pieces. Stitches are picked up from the saddles to work the back, which is shaped at the shoulders using short rows and worked down to the underarm. Then, stitches are picked up from the saddles to work the fronts. The fronts are also shaped at the shoulders with short rows and worked down to the underarm, just like the back. The front and back pieces are then joined to work the body. Stitches are picked up along the front edges to create the button bands, and along the neckline to work the collar band and the collar. Sleeves are worked in the round after picking up stitches from the armholes. The cardigan is finished by sewing on the buttons.
