Aurora Balaclava
The Aurora Balaclava - A Versatile, Relaxed Fit Headpiece
Welcome to the Aurora Balaclava pattern! The Aurora Balaclava is designed with a relaxed, modern silhouette. It doesn’t hug the head tightly; instead, it offers a breathable and stylish fit. The neck is slightly tapered for warmth, while the face opening is intentionally generous. Thanks to the built-in i-cord drawstring and folded ribbed hem, you can easily adjust the opening to be as snug or as loose as you like, making it perfect for windy winter days. This pattern provides both stitch & row counts (based on the suggested gauge) and centimeter measurements.
Key Features
• Customizable Fit: Instructions provided in both stitches and centimeters.
• Anatomical Shaping: Includes optional German Short Rows (GSR) to create a natural curve for the back of the head.
• Professional Finish: A double-layered folded hem around the face provides a clean look and a sturdy channel for the drawstring.
• Seamless Transition: Designed to be worked flat initially and then transitioned into circular knitting for a seamless neck.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate / Adventurous Beginner
Whether you are a seasoned knitter looking for a quick project or an adventurous beginner eager to learn techniques like GSR, picking up stitches and folded hems, the Aurora Balaclava is a rewarding and cozy knit.
