The Aurora top is a halter top that’s perfect for summer, your next tropical vacation or even layering.

The top is worked bottom up. First, you start with the body, then the chest and finish with a neat i-cord. You can choose between a beginner-friendly version without any shaping and the detail below the chest. But if you’re up to a bit more, you can choose the more detailed version.

Techiques used:

  • Knitting and purling
  • Knitting in the round and flat
  • Increases and decreases
  • Lateral braid (optional)
  • I-cord knitting
  • Cast on and cast off

Sizes:
1 - Chest: 78-82cm, Waist: 58-63cm
2 - Chest: 82-86cm, Waist: 64-69cm
3 - Chest: 86-94cm, Waist: 70-75cm
4 - Chest: 94-102cm, Waist: 76-80cm

Yarn:
You’ll need approx.
100g (100g) 150g (200g) 200g of yarn, depending on size & length

I used Gomitolo Tono by Lana Grossa (100g = 360m) for the sample, beautiful yarn, but the color changes require cutting and adjusting if you want a symmetrical look.

Prefer a more consistent colorway? Try:

  • Tynn Line by Sandnes Garn
  • Alba by BC Garn
  • Cotton Silk by Lana Grossa
  • Pandora by Rauma Garn

Needles:
3mm circular needles

Gauge:
28 sts x 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch
