Auta Cowl
This stranded colorwork is a re-interpretation of a traditional North-Venetian pattern that can be found on every piece of home décor in almost all households. I wanted to ‘free this pattern’ to the world and make it into a lovely series of knitting designs. Here you have the cowl, warm and cozy, perfect for these wintery days. It’s also a good project for a beginner attempting stranded colorwork for the first time!

Size
One size, to fit an adult. About 75 cm (29.5in), 27cm(10.5in). The size can be easily modified by repeating the chart as needed both in length and in circumference.

Yarn
For this pattern I used Cushendale DK 100% Irish Wool. 100g skein = 200m(218yd). Any other similar weight yarn is suitable.

Yarn Requirements
MC: Cushendale DK 100g skein, Indigo,
CC: Cushendale DK (1/2 skein) 100g Skein, Silver,
Note: you can use any contrasting colour to your liking. I would recommend, when you choose your colour, to pick the highest contrast that you could find. This will get the colorwork to pop amazingly!

Tension
24 Sts and 28 rounds = 10 cm 4 in over stockinette.

Needles Suggestion
One 3.5mm (US4), 40 cm long circular needle,
One 4mm (US6), 40cm long circular needle.

Note: Needle sizes are just indicative. For best results please swatch first and choose a needle size that works for you!

Other Materials
Darning needle,
