Every year I await the coming of autumn with great anticipation. I created this shawl in honor of the season.

This project is worked using garter stitch, a ribbed variation, and a simple two row eyelet pattern sections. The increases are done at the beginning of the right side rows and the decreases are done at the beginning of the wrong side rows. The pattern creates a shallow asymmetrical shaped shawlette that can be worn in many ways.

  • Yarn used is one skein of Malabrigo Sock yarn - Yardage is 440 yards (402 m) 3.5 oz. of color “Arbol” #858 or your choice of fingering weight yarn.

  • Needles used are US size 5 (3.75 mm) 32 inch (80 cm) cord circular needles.

  • Gauge is not important for this project. Manufacturer states 8 stitches per inch using US 1-3 (2.25-2.5mm) needles.

  • Size: Measures 14 inches (35.56 cm) at deepest point and 94 inches (238.76 cm) across longest side from point to point – after blocking.

This project is a quick and easy knit. It is a wonderful shawlette to add that little something to finish off your look.
