Avena Shawl is a simple and beautiful, triangular shawl knit seamlessly in one piece, top down. The shawl starts at the centre and grows outwards to the border by adding four stitches on every RS row: one stitch on each side and two stitches at the centre. This shawl is knit in two different contrast colors. The first part of the shawl is worked in simple yet effective slipped stitch pattern that gives it a nice texture. This particular pattern reminds me of avena (oat) plant. After completing this part, the contrast color is introduced. Row of delicate bobbles is added for some extra texture, followed by the last part of Avena Shawl that is knit in a lovely, classic lace pattern. Picot bind off adds some romantic look to the shawl.
