This is probably the most complicated bird in my Knitted Birds book! It’s really stunning though, and well worth the effort. The avocet is 12 inches all and is mounted on a piece of driftwood to give it stability. It would make a lovely ornament for a coastal-themed room. The book includes detailed instructions on how to make the wire legs and felt beak.
