This knitting pattern for a 7 inch lapwing is from my book Knitted Birds, published by Search Press. It is knitted on 2 needles, in the flat, using oddments of DK yarn. The book includes detailed instructions for making the stiff wire legs, and also contains a template for a felt beak.
