ABOUT THE PATTERN
Awaken was born from a moment of change, when I felt the need to step beyond the familiar and begin exploring again.
During the process of my book and while teaching in Madrid, volume became a new language within my knitting.
That exploration is reflected in this design through its forms: voluminous sleeves, I-cords, and beads that bring texture and light.
Awaken captures that moment when creativity reawakens and new ideas begin to emerge.

CONSTRUCTION
The design begins with the back, worked from the top down using a provisional cast-on and knitted flat. The fronts are worked separately from the same cast-on, then joined with the back to continue the body in the round. The sleeves feature a balloon shape with a fitted sleeve cap, shaped with short rows and then worked in the round. This pattern includes, beads with a crochet hook, and picking up I-cords to add volume.
