Axis mittens
The Axis Mittens are worked in Stockinette stitch, with delicate geometric cross stitch motifs embroidered on top in a contrasting yarn.
The motif is perfectly centered thanks to a purl stitch marker placed at the wrist.
Light and delicate, the mittens are knit in fingering-weight yarn and embroidered with a DK-weight yarn, making them ideal for the first chills of autumn or as a thoughtful gift for the holiday season.
The name Axis refers to the invisible line around which the design is structured and balanced.
Like an axis in geometry, the purl stitches anchor the embroidery, guiding the symmetrical
placement of each stitched motif.
