Baboodie is baby hoodie knit from the top down in one piece. It is a fast knit with 200 yards of Aran or heavy worsted weight yarn and size 9 (5.5 mm) circular knitting needles. (Use a size 8 needle with worsted weight yarn for a slightly smaller sweater.) The hood is knit in garter stitch and the body in stockinette. Should fit 6-14 months size. (Chest measures 18.5” when buttoned.) After yoke section is knit place the sleeve stitches on waste yarn and knit the body. Then the sleeves may be knit in the round or knit flat and seamed. Hood can be knit and seamed or begun with a provisional cast on and 3 needle bind off or Russian garter stitch graft to close the hood seam. You’ll also need 3 buttons 1/2”-3/4” in size depending on buttonhole size.
