These cute children’s socks are worked from top down, starting from the cuff and finishing with toes. Knit in rounds, using the Magic Loop method. You can use DPNs (double-pointed needles) if you prefer and adjust the pattern.

This pattern is made in UK English, all measurements in cm (2.5cm = 1in)

Materials:
Yarn:
Fingering weight / sock yarn (400-420m/100g), main colour approximately 
• 15-20g (for size S)
• 25-30g (for size M)
• 35-40g (for size L)
• And 10-15g of contrasting colour for the ruffle
Needles:
• 2-2.5 mm (US Size 0-2, UK size 12-14) circular needles with min. 80 cm cable 
• Or DPNs (double-pointed needles), if you prefer
Other tools:
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Stitch markers to mark the beginning of the round and the heel section (optional)
Gauge:
10x10cm (4x4 inch) = 32 sts x 40 rows in stockinette stitch (adjust needle size if necessary)
Sizes:
• S - age 0-1yo, foot length 9-12 cm
• M - age 2-6yo, foot length 13-16 cm 
• L - age 7-10yo, foot length 17-20 cm
