Pattern updated 5-28-2018.

The Baby Bird Blanket is a textured blanket designed to meet the donation requirements for Knots of Love, a nonprofit organization that distributes hats to people suffering from traumatic hair loss and blankets to infants in neonatal intensive care units. This blanket uses the the same simple stitch pattern from the Hummingbird Hat along with a traveling stitch pattern for added texture. This is part of a Knit-a-Long sponsored by Lion Brand. Materials
Lion Brand Heartland yarn (100% acrylic, 5 oz/142 g, 251 yd/230 m) – 1 (2, 3) skein(s) each in MC and CC, or approximately 251 yd/502 yd/753 yd (230 m/460 m/690 m) in each of 2 colors in any medium weight yarn. (I used 178 Pinnacles as MC and 156 Guadalupe Mountains as CC.)

US 8/5 mm 40” (100 cm) knitting needles, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge. (This project is knit flat in rows, but circular needles are recommended because of the large number of stitches on the needles.)

Yarn needle.

Gauge
20 sts = 4” (10 cm) in pattern. For best fit, always check your gauge.
