This hat is a very basic beanie and could be knit in a variety of sizes and weights of yarn. The instructions are for worsted/aran, but one could consult other beanie patterns to figure out needle size and number of cast-on stitches if one wanted to make a different size or use a different weight of yarn. The “long life” symbol is worked as a separate piece and sewn on, and uses fingering weight yarn and size US 0 needles to make it as small as possible.

Low Vision Accessibility: This pattern is available in a low vision accessible format as a separate PDF with the pattern file name in ALL CAPS LVA. It is written in 24 point Arial font in all black text on a white background. All text is left-justified and has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out. There is a chart included but the chart is not needed to complete the pattern. This pattern is also screen reader accessible and has been reviewed and tested to work with a screen reader. It does not contain any parentheses. Special thanks to momcook for her guidance and testing.
