The octopus is constructed using medium weight yarn and US 5 (3.75mm) DPNs, which makes it approx. 5.5” tall. However, any size yarn and needle size could be substituted to vary it’s size.

It would make an adorable nursery decoration, plus the eyes could be embroidered and a rattle insert could be placed inside the head to use it as a toy for babies/toddlers.

The body is knit in the round while the arms are knitted flat. The pattern is 6 pages long and includes photos to assist you.

Recommended skill level is Advanced Beginner due to working in the round with DPNs.

Techniques used in this pattern:
k - knit
p - purl
kfb - knit front & back
k2tog - knit 2 stitches together
k3tog - k 3 stitches together
ssk - slip, slip, knit
M1L - make 1 left
mb - make bobble

Materials Required:
US 5 (3.75mm) dpns
3.5 mm or 3.75mm Crochet Hook for Magic Ring cast on (link to tutorial included)
Medium Weight (4) yarn in 2 different colors: Main Color for the top of the body, Accent Color for the underside
A small bit of pink yarn is used for the cheeks
#10 Black Crochet Thread for embroidering the face
18mm Safety eyes
Polyfiber filling
