Intro:
Last year I was asked to make a pumpkin skirt for my niece.
Initially I made the skirt in 1-2 y size.
I’ve used CARON HARVEST CROCHET PUMPKINS by https://www.yarnspirations.com as an inspiration.

Pumpkin Skirt
Size: Baby NB, 0-6m

Materials:
Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, Size #4 in Orange. I have used Red Heart Super Saver, Color Pumpkin (0254)
Size G / 4.5 mm crochet hook
Sie H / 5 mm crochet hook
Measuring tape
A sewing needle

Gauge:
7 DC x 2 rows = 2” x 2 “ using Size G / 4.5 mm hook

Abbreviations:

Foundation Row:
Using G / 4.5 mm crochet hook
Chain 60. Slip stitch to the first chain. Total: 60 st

  1. Chain 1, Start in the base of the chain. (sc 2, 2 dc, dc 6, 2 dc, sc 2) x 5. Slip stitch to the first chain. Total: 70 st = 14 st x 5
  2. Chain 1, Start in the base of the chain. (sc 2, 2 dc, dc 8, 2 dc, sc 2) x 5. Slip stitch to the first chain. Total: 80 st = 5 x 16 st

Using H / 5 mm crochet hook
Turn your work upside down and join the yarn in the beginning chain.
1. (Chain 1, dc in next counts as dc decrease in the beginning of the round.)
( dc decrease x 2, sc 8) x 5. Total: 50 st. Ss. Chain 1
2. Dc 50. Total: 50 st
Fasten Off. Invisible join.

Using G / 4.5 mm crochet hook and some leftover yarn in brown or green.
Chain 150, sc in 2nd and every chain to the end.
Put it through the waist area and use it to tie the skirt.
Optionally add 2 leaves in both ends.

Tip: Use stitch markers to mark the first sc of each repeat in the row so you do not have to count the stitches or to pay a lot of attention.
