This pattern is written for 2 sizes (12 month or 2 Toddler) and uses US 3s & 6s for the 12 month, with DK weight yarn; and US 5s and 7s for the 2 Toddler, with worsted weight yarn. It is designed with an easy basketweave pattern that is worked on the wrong side of the sweater with all knit stitches on the right side. Would say this is a sweater for an intermediate knitter. Beautiful raglan construction!
