The Back 2 School(B2S) Cardigan is the one garment you reach for when the first chills of autumn or the lingering chill from a long winter sips into spring. Perfectly oversized and textured, a cardigan that can be worn as a jacket in the early mornings or late afternoons turning into evenings.Make the cardigan completely your own by choosing colours that you like or that are representing something to you!
The B2S Cardigan has a European-shoulder construction, a slightly dropped shoulder, a V-neckline and is worked in stockinette. The pattern starts by working the back, the fronts are then picked up from the shoulder slopes of the back piece and worked separately. Later they are joined with the back and worked down to the 1 x 1 Rib hem. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are shaped with short rows for a better fit. The sleeves have a relaxed tampered fit, with decreases then worked before the ribbing. Button bands are picked up and worked in 1 x 1 Rib with buttonholes.

Gauge: 14 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in stockinette flat, after blocking using the body needles.
Always use needles that get you the required gauge.

Needles:
4.5 mm US 7 for the body of the sweater and the sleeves 80-100 cm 32-40” circular needles
3.5 mm US 4 for the ribbings 80 cm 32” circular needles for the magic loop method for the sleeves.

The garment has a positive ease of 20-25 cm 8-10”. Sample made in size 4 - 100 cm bust circumference and garment has a finished bust circumference of 125 cm 49”m 10” of positive ease).
Tip: If you’re between two sizes, I recommend choosing the bigger size for an oversized look.
