Lock&Tie Blouse
The Lock&Tie Blouse is a versatile piece that feels both cozy and elegant. Perfect for anyone who appreciates effortless style, it blends cozy comfort with refined details, making it an easy wardrobe staple throughout the seasons. Choose between a short or long sleeve, it will be a blouse you’ll reach for no matter the occasion.
The Lock&Tie Blouse is made from the top-down. Starting with the upper back working it in stockinette, with short rows to ensure a proper fit. Once the upper back has been shaped till the underarm length, the live stitches are put on hold and stitches are picked up for the front. The front of the blouse has a cutout which is shaped after the neckline increases. The 2 fronts and the upper back are joined together in the round and worked till desired length ending with ribbing and rolled hem. An icord edge is worked all around the back and front opening. The set-in sleeves are worked next, with short rows shaping the sleeve cap. They are later on worked in the round where a slight bell shape is worked on the lower part of the sleeves ending with ribbing and a rolled hem. Icord ties can be added at the end of the neckline shaping or clasps can be used too. Bust shaping is also worked on the front after joining the 2 fronts and back in the round.
Gauge: 20 sts x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in stockinette, flat after blocking using the body & sleeve needles.
Always use needles that get you the required gauge.
Needles: 4 mm US 6 80-100 cm 32-40” circular needles for the body and sleeves of the blouse
and 3.5 mm US 4 40 or 80 cm 16 or 24” circular needles for the ribbings.
