The Banded Braids Mittens are adorned with eye-catching braids on the cuff. This pattern includes two adult sizes: women’s S/M and M/L and a baby mitt size is also included. The braids help keep the cold air and snow out. I suggest using contrasting colors so the braids and colorwork really pops!

Skill Level: Intermediate

Method: Knit in the round on DPNs, or use magic-loop method if preferred.

Supplies:

  1. Super bulky yarn (weight 6) in color A and color B. I used Malabrigo Rasta, but any weight 6 yarn will work, provided you meet gauge. Yardage varies depending on size.
  2. US 13 / 9 mm DPNs
  3. US 15 / 10 mm DPNs
  4. Two stitch markers
  5. Waste yarn or stitch holder.

Size: Women’s S/M: 4”w x 9” tall from cuff to fingertip.
Women’s M/L: 4.5”w x 10” tall from cuff to fingertip.
Baby: 3”w x 4” tall from cuff to fingertip.
