Barbara’s Set is a cardigan with capped sleeves, turned down collar, and a matching hat finished with a flower detail.

This is designed for a newborn.

It is completed using Double Knit yarn (shown here is Special DK by Stylecraft in Fondant), and using a 4.5mm hook. You will also need a very small amount of white yarn (also in Double Knit) to for the hat.

Barbara’s cardigan is worked from the neck down in one piece. The top is quite dense, but the body has an open pattern.

Barbara’s Hat is also worked in one piece, with the flower added and sewn so that the brim of the hat is turned up. The hat is also made with the same open pattern as the body of the cardigan.

Pattern is given in UK terminology. Please contact me if you would prefer an American version.

You will need:
1 ball of 100g Double Knit yarn
Darning needle and scissors
6 matching buttons (the button on the hat and the 2 buttons on the collar are for decoration only)

Skill level:
You will need to know how to start with a magic loop, double crochet, treble crochet, chain, slip stitch and basic sewing.
