The Barn Door Shawl was designed in collaboration with Ranching Tradition Fibers for their new yarn “Tobacco Root Valley”. This shawl design incorporates textured cable stitches and bold X cables to create a cozy shawl to wrap around the shoulders on a cold day. The shawl will be finished with a border of broken rib and optional tassels. The textures and tassels are the perfect combination of modern style and rustic imagery.

While instructions written for the cable stitches reference using a cable needle, they are all easily achieved without a cable needle. There are many online tutorials to help you practice this technique.
