A cardigan is a perennial wardrobe staple. This one gets a modern update with open fronts and simple cables. Classic textures allow the yarn to shine.

The Barras Quarry Cardigan is a drop shoulder, color block cardigan with overlapping Garter Stitch fronts in a contrasting color. A simple cable is repeated on the fronts and at the center back of the sweater. Knitting begins at the hem, then the sleeves are picked up and knit to the cuff.

Finishing includes the contrasting shaped fronts, an I-Cord
edging worked on the wrong side, and afterthought pockets
which keep essentials close at hand.
