It’s an open-front sweater---it’s a wrap---it’s cool and it’s elegant.

Bartram’s Garden draws inspiration from the historic garden and arboretum of the same name, and is a sister piece to The Gift of Promise.

The rectangular wrap is worked flat in a leafy lace stitch with openings for the sleeves. The sleeves are worked separately in the round in Stockinette stitch with a panel of lace running from shoulder to garter stitch edge, and seamed to the sweater after blocking.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

  • See schematic photo at left for complete measurements.
  • Any of the measurements from A to D can be lengthened by working additional repeats of the lace pattern. You will need more yarn if you add length to any those sections.
  • Since this is an open-front cardigan, bust measurement is disregarded in sizing. Please use the Back width between armhole measurement to choose your size. The bottom photo on the left shows where you should take that measurement on your back.
