This beanie is the perfect next step knitting project after taking a beginner knitting class.

Written for circular needles, starting with 40cm (16”) for the brim and body of the hat then recommending 80cm (32”) circular needles for the optional crown decreases using the magic loop method.

If you just want to practice your knitting there are modification options throughout the instructions to make the hat even more beginner friendly. Can’t purl yet? Choose Modicfication 1 and create a rolled brim instead of ribbed brim. Don’t like a slouchy hat? Choose Modification 2 to adjust the depth. Don’t know magic loop yet? Choose Modication 3 - and created a gathered crown instead of a shaped crown.

Once you have knit this hat you will be making the leap to garments in no time!

Coupon code for 50% discount is available for Linda’s Learn to Knit class participants.

The pattern includes a video link tutorial for joining in the round. More videos to come.

Thank you to my darling nieces for modelling my beanie! Yes, they are kids but the beanie does fit my 57cm (22.5”) head quite easily as well. I will upload my pic soon.
