I’ve knitted socks for me, my husband and my 3 kids for years. I could never find a basic magic loop knitting pattern, which contained all our sizes. So I’ve created it myself!

This pattern contains 4 sizes (kids, small, medium, large) and explains where to change colour if you want to knit contrasting cuff, heel and/or toes.

I’ve knit the example in Opal 4ply. But you can easily use one of your pretty (hand dyed) sock yarns from your stash! Any fingering weight sock yarn (100 grams = 425 meters) will do. When you are a tight knitter, I’d advice a 2.5 mm needle. Normal/loose knitters will need a 2.25 mm needle. 80 cm will do for magic loop.

The ‘Basic Magic Loop Socks’ pattern is originally written to accompany the video’s in my Online Brei Campus (Online Knitting Campus). The tutorials are in Dutch.
