Vanilla socks are my favorite socks to knit. You can use any (sock) yarn depending on your mood. This basic sock is my go-to vanilla sock pattern. The sock is worked from the top down with a shadow-wrap heel.

Gauge:
34 sts x 46 rnds = 10 cm (4 in) in stockinette using 2.5 mm needles

Yarn used:
1 skein Gründl Sockenwolle trio (75% wool, 25% polyamide; 420 m per 100 g)

Any fingering-weight sock yarn can be used for this sock pattern

Size information:
Sizes S (M, L, XL) with 56 (64, 72, 80) sts
Finished circumference: 16.5 (19, 21, 23.5) cm (6.5, 7.5, 8.5; 9.5 in)
Recommended ease: approximately 2.5 cm (1 inch) of negative ease
