Summary:  Makes a basketweave rectangle that may be used as a baby blanket or towel.  Gauge swatch can be finished and used as a baby's washcloth.

Materials Required:

  • US 4 / 3.5 mm needle should be a 29-inch (or longer) circular needle
  • 2 stitch markers

From Knitting for BabyKnitted in soft, absorbent, machine-washable cotton chenille, this project works equally well as a towel or blanket.... Because this project begins with 136 stitches (and it's not always easy to keep that many stitches on a straight needle) we recommend you use a 29-inch or longer circular needle.
