I’m time blind so I don’t know exactly how long it takes but I can do one within a saw marathon if that gives you a time frame.

As far as amount of yarn, for a 65in wide shawl I use 2-3 skeins of rhss/big twist value, 1.5-2 skeins of lion brand mandala, 3-4 skeins of Caron simply soft.
