There is nothing so special as a crochet baby blanket for a new little one. Crochet blankets are highly customizable between the choice of yarn color and stitch texture.

Inspiration for this pattern comes from the pleas of my nephew who is a avid fan of the old Adam West TV series. The result is a wonderfully comfy, sturdy blanket that is perfect for any super hero or heroine. The center panel is done with tapestry crochet (which is easy to do, there are plenty You Tube tutorials if you need a refresher) so it is reversible and very washable. In other words, the bat signal is not simply sewn on the circle (The fourth picture shows the reverse of the blanket.)

The finished product is 34x42 inches and the difficulty level is that of an experienced beginner. The pattern is ten pages long with detailed instructions and thirteen pictures. Also included are graphs for doing the center panel with two or three colors. I do use abbreviations but the instructions are in more of a conversation style for increased ease, so as long as this is not your first rodeo, you can do this!
