Since not everyone can have a life-sized droid living in their home, I’ve decided to create a pattern for a small BB-8! As always I’ve designed this pattern so that the head can spin 360° around. He’s approximately 18cm tall once completely assembled (depending on your tension), and it took me just over 5 hours to make. Practically no time at all! Once you get going, you are simply hooked and end up with an army of them. You can make at least two droids out of all the materials you gather, so there’s no excuse not to make more! The only thing you would need to buy more of would be the buttons so that his head moves, but you can always skip that and sew the head directly to the body to make it stationary.

Difficulty: Easy
Materials needed:
-2.75mm crochet hook
-3.5mm crochet hook
-Sewing Needle
-Scissors
-Craft Filling
-2x 20mm white buttons
-Panda Magnum 12ply Yarn White OR Creative Corner Super Soft yarn 8 ply 100g White (This is a good substitute if you don’t want to be buying several different yarns)
-Heritage Mills Yarn Light Grey OR Creative Corner Super Soft yarn 8 ply 100g Grey Marle (Heritage Mills Yarn has been discontinued)
-Needles Yarn Pumpkin
-Porta Craft Soft Baby Yarn Black
-One 10mm and one 18mm black safety eye (optional)

All stitches used, materials and other items that you’ll need are listed in the pattern. And I’ve even included a little cheat sheet to convert this pattern from US terminology to UK terminology.

This pattern is available in English only.
