The idea for this blanket originated with my dear friend Ilse. She created a beautiful friendship blanket from the colorful wool remnants given by friends. While the original friendship blanket is full size and knit with worsted wool, this pattern has been designed as a baby blanket using fingering weight wool.

This blanket is a great project to use the few yards of wool left over from other projects or to do as Ilse has done and create a friendship blanket from the wool remnants of friends.

Easy enough for a novice knitter and more than enjoyable for the seasoned knitter.
