This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. It incorporates a simple, yet striking rib pattern and cables in a contrasting color
Working in the round means the cables are I-cord because we won’t turn our work. The cables are essentially inelastic, but that doesn’t really affect the hat. However, those cables really “pop” because they are in a different color and stand up from the background.

You’ll want two balls (~220 yds total) of your main color and one ball for the contrasting color. You’ll only end up using maybe ~30 yds of the contrasting color, so feel free to use some other leftover yarn or you can use the contrasting color to make the pom pom. I didn’t try this, but I’d be willing to bet that with two balls of each color you could make two hats with the colors flip flopped.
