This pattern is a comfortable cap style beanie.

This beanie uses a mix of knit, purl, right crosses (RC), left crosses (LC), right decrease, and left decrease to create an identical front and back. Each row is a repeat of the same pattern for front and then back. The finished shape has a small peak at the top, this is helped by blocking the beanie, and by usual relaxing of stitches with wear.
