Description
The “Beanie the Change” beanie injects some color and a powerful message into a quick, fun pattern for yourself or as a gift. Starting with a ribbed brim, this hat then uses helix knitting to craft a creatively striped pattern with a color block section in the middle before finishing up with another helix section and standard hat decreasing. After the hat is finished, duplicate stitching is used to create the lettering motif in the color block section to get the look of intarsia without the complication of intarsia. This pattern features 3 yarns from Lady Dye Yarns’ Bridgerton collection, with enough yarn to make 2 beanies, including the swatch! It’s also a perfect way to dive into your stash of minis (20 g or more)! It’s also simple enough to change up the ribbing, increase the length for a more slouchy fit, or maybe add a pom-pom if you like. So, go forth and create some beautiful beanies!

Sizing
The finished beanie measures 10”/25 cm in width and 8”/20 cm in height.

Yarn
The For the People yarn club kit comes with 3 fingering weight big mini skeins of 1-ply 100% superwash merino; 200 yds (183m) per 50 g each. Otherwise, this could be a great way to work through some fingering weight minis, ~20 g of each colorway.
