Description
The Free Speech & Headlight Cowl was designed as part of a collaboration for Lady Dye Yarns’s Ida B. Well yarn club. The pattern represents Ida B. Wells-Barnett’s use of journalism to shine a light on the horrors of lynching in the 1890s. A bright light color reveals a newsprint motif that was “hidden” by a dark contrasting color. This cowl is a simple design with a no-fuss construction that allows for the color work to shine. Pick some beautiful yarn and knit up this quick cowl to keep your neck warm and commemorate the incredible efforts of an amazing woman!

Sizing
The final cowl measures 27.5”/70 cm in circumference and 8.5”/22 cm in height

Yarn
The Ida B. Wells yarn club kit comes with 2 fingering weight big mini skeins of 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon yarn; 200 yds (183m) per 50 g each. Otherwise, this could be a great way to use up some left over fingering weight yarn, ~50 g of each colorway.
