Adorable bear-ears hat with earflaps for babies and toddlers in DK weight yarn!
The earflaps will keep their ears covered. Handy ties will keep a hat nicely in place and prevent babies from taking it off.

It is a fun little project and makes a lovely gift for a new baby!

Instructions for this hat are written for both, working in the round and flat. You can choose which option is best for you.
If you are working in the round, you won’t have to sew the hat together at the end, but you will be working alternating between knit and purl rounds.
Working flat method allows you to skip purl stitches and only work knit rows, but you will have to sew the hat together at the end.

The hat started working in garter stitch bottom up with earflaps worked as short rows. Then work is continued in garter st until the desired length of the hat is completed. Decreases are worked.
I-Cord ties and bear ears are completed after the hat is finished.
