Learn to knit simple ribbed ear warmers in this easy knitting pattern. This beginner ear warmer knitting pattern is a great place to start learning to knit in the round. It is made with just knit and purl stiches, so you can concentrate on learning to use circular needles or double point needles (DPNs).

This pattern can be knit in the round in three different ways. Instructions are included for double point needles, the magic loop, and shorter circular needles. Pick your favorite method to knit in the round, then follow the instructions that match your chosen needles. Rather than binding off loosely, this pattern will have you bind off with a larger size needle to help ensure a smooth, even edge.

I used Caron Simply Soft for the design, but you can substitute any worsted weight yarn in this pattern. For this pattern, I recommend using a yarn made of acrylic, wool, or a combination of the two. Malabrigo Rios is a great yarn to use in this pattern, if you prefer wool. Make sure you check your gauge when substituting yarn. Try this pattern with variegated yarn colors (for example, Simply Soft Paints) to spice things up.
