Looking for a classic hat with cable details? This is the one for you! With a large cables all around the crown it’s bold and full of character and ideal for beginner cablers to start shaping while cabling. Designed in chunky yarn, the bonus is that it’s easy to see what you’re doing.

This is a printable, pdf download.

Who is this for?

This pattern is ideal for you if you have some experience in knitting, you need to understand the basics of knitting. If cabling is new to you, you need to be willing to spend time learning as you knit the cable pattern. This pattern includes just the first technique that beginner cablers will learn, CB, in this case, C8B.

If you’re already a cable knitter, you can easily knit the repeating pattern while watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix or reading your latest BookTube gem!

Why do you need it?

This pattern is purposefully described as beginner’s cable, for you to stretch into knitting cables- but not too far! Only one new element of the secret knitting code is included in this patterns, the CB (cable back) technique, we’ll use C8B in the scarf.

I explain these fully in the abbreviations sections of the pattern.
