The Bekah sweater is made for my sweet rainbow baby Rebekah. It is available in only 2t right now. Sweater is knitted flat from the bottom up and then the front and back are separated and knit flat as well. The ruffles are picked up around the edge using fingering weight wool yarn (to help the ruffles lay correctly I do recommend wool yarn) and knit with short rows.

You Need

  • 150 yards heavy worsted yarn
  • 200 yards fingering yarn
  • 3 buttons .75 inch (2cm)
  • 4.5mm circular knitting needle
  • 5.0mm circular knitting needle

Terms Used

  • k - knit
  • p - purl
  • st - stitch
  • bo - bind off
  • pm - place marker
  • k2tog - knit two stitches together like they are one st
  • m1 - make one st however you want
  • k1fb - knit into the front and back of a stitch to make 2 sts from 1 st
  • k1fbf - knit into the front, back, and front of a st to make 3 sts from 1 st
  • picking up sts with a crochet hook for the ruffles on the sides
  • short rows, wrap and turns used
  • sewing on buttons

gauge: 7 sts in 2 inches width by 7 “garter st rows” height

Yes the ruffles are annoying to knit. This is not a beginner pattern. Pattern has not been tested so please send me any errors you find at moonofsilver@gmail.com or here on ravelry.
