This bolero is very soft, and drapes beautifully. The yarn is silky and has a sheen. This colour looks like spun gold! (The dress in the pictures is the Abigail Fairy Dress - pattern available in my store)

The design allows for a very flexible fit, suitable for a variety of body types. You may use a smaller or larger hook, or slightly thicker yarn to adjust sizing up or down to suit you. I crochet very loosely, and used a 2,5mm hook on the sample.
This was quite a challenging pattern for me, and I would recommend it for experienced crocheters only. The Tencel yarn is very slippery, and some of the stitches are somewhat complicated, so make sure you understand the pattern before you begin. It might save you some frogging :) Of course you can use a less slippery yarn if you prefer.

You’ll see I love working into 3rd loops of stitches. This gives a nice raised effect, but it can be quite tricky if you’re new to it. Even if you’re an experienced crocheter, read the instructions to catch any potential differences in method. If you’d prefer, you are free to do normal stitches instead. It will simplify the texture of the bolero, but it won’t affect the overall pattern. I’ve attached photos where possible to try to make it clearer.

I added buttons afterwards, without creating any buttonholes. I just used the existing spaces between the DCs. This is entirely optional

This pattern has been tested, but of course we are all human, and errors may have slipped in. If you find any errors, or don’t understand something, please email me on home@creatureshop.dk and I’ll do my best to help.
