Berry Scarf is full of fun techniques designed to expand knitting skills while (mostly) working with only one color at a time. The berry design was inspired by a motif from Britt-Marie Christoffersson’s Swedish Sweaters and is created with cables, slipped stitches, twisted stitches, and bobbles. The two-color garter-stitch background simplifies colorwork, not only working only one color at a time, but with no floats and an attractive wrong side appearance to complement the design. The design is “framed” with slipped stitches, twisted stitches, and a Vikkel braid. There are detailed explanations for the various techniques, and the design is written and charted.

Berry Scarf can be worked with any yarn weight from fingering to Aran, and uses about 110 grams of MC, and 80 grams of CC no matter which weight you choose. If you want a longer or shorter scarf, Berry Scarf is easily modified. Materials as shown are:
Shepherd’s Wool Worsted (100% wool; 250 yards per 4 oz skein);
MC: Blue Spruce; 1 skein
CC: Garnet; 1 skein
