Construction:
The Bessie Beanie is knit from the bottom up in the round. It begins with a section of 1x1 rib, then is flipped inside out, where an all-over colour-work design is completed, meaning the wrong side of the ribbing becomes the right side of the colour-work. This construction allows for a cosy folded hem and a small curled cast-on edge.
Once the chart is finished, decreases are worked without colour-work to shape the crown of the beanie, which is then closed tightly using a darning needle.
