Bestie Dog Sweater is a lightweight sweater especially for spring and fall weather.

The pattern includes letter charts from A to Z, so you can knit your dog’s initial in the sweater!

The sweater is worked top-down, from the collar to the hem, using circular needles – the smallest sizes can also be knitted with double-pointed needles.

The yoke features a decorative vine motif, after which the back and chest are separated for the leg openings and then joined again to form the body. In the smaller sizes XXS-XS, the yoke pattern continues past the separation point, meaning you’ll also knit a few rows of the colorwork on the purl side.

The best fit is achieved by choosing a size that is approximately 2–7 cm / 0.8–2.8” larger than your dog’s actual chest circumference.

Tips for adjusting the pattern for differently shaped dogs are included in the pattern.

The underbelly is knitted in ribbing, which makes dressing easier. For female dogs, the sweater can cover the entire belly, while for males, room must be left at the bottom for urination. Separate instructions are included for both, as well as for adding a harness opening.

This sweater works with any sport-weight yarn of four different colors with a gauge of approx. 26 sts × 33 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4”).

Neule neulotaan pyöröpuikoilla ylhäältä alas, kauluksesta helmaan – pienimmät koot onnistuvat myös sukkapuikoilla. Kaarrokkeessa kulkee koristeellinen köynnöskuvio, jonka jälkeen selkä- ja rintaosat ero-tetaan jalka-aukkojen kohdalta ja yhdistetään myöhemmin taas yhteen vartalo-osaksi. Pienemmissä koissa kuvio jatkuu myös osittain erottelukohdan jälkeen, jolloin kirjoneuletta neulotaan muuta-ma kerros myös nurjalla puolella.

Pusero istuu parhaiten, kun valitset koon, jonka rinnanympärys on noin 2–7 cm koiraasi suurempi. Erityisesti jos puseron alla käytetään valjaita, kannattaa valita väljä koko. Ohjeessa neuvotaan myös valjasaukon tekeminen.

Vatsaosa neulotaan joustinneuleena, mikä helpottaa pukemista. Narttukoirille neuleen voi neuloa peittämään koko vatsan, mutta uroksille tulee jättää tilaa vatsan alle. Molemmille on erilliset ohjeet.

Puseroon sopii mikä tahansa sport-vahvuinen lanka, jonka neuletiheys on noin 26 s x 33 krs = 10x10 cm. Neuleessa käytetään neljää eri väristä lankaa.
