This blanket can be made any size and with any amount of yarn. I used 436 yards of bulky weight yarn for a finished blanket that is 34” square. I also have used worsted weight held double with the same results. The yardages listed in this pattern vary because of this. If you are using bulky yarn, you’ll need about 450 yards for a baby blanket, and you’ll need about 800 if you decide to double worsted.

This blanket is worked from the point out unlike traditional mitered squares. Working out from the point allows you to have a complete blanket at any point that you tire of the knitting, or you run out of yarn.
