Bibblebobble Shawl

I decided that a silly name was in order as I feel like a little silliness and escapism for the pure sake of it could do me – and hopefully you – some good right now. And what is more fun than bobbles!

This shawl was created with worsted weight yarn that I had in smaller quantities. The play and the fun for me was working with colour and stripes and texture. I started with the colours as my jumping off point and began to play. This works well both with yarns of different textures and yarns of a similar or identical texture.

For me, this knit became pure joy and offered a lot of fun and squishy comfort as I went along.

Hope it will bring you some joy as well!

Size

Wingspan: 153 cm / 60 inches
Depth from top centre of shawl to point: 77 cm / 30 inches

Needles

4.5 mm (US 7) or size needed to get gauge

Yarn

Worsted Weight 765 – 860 metres / 835 – 940 yards

Sample used:

Colour A: 2 skeins Rowan Hemp Tweed (95 m/104 y per skein), colour Duck Egg Blue

Colour B: 1 skein Malabrigo Worsted (192 m/210 y per skein), colour Bergamota (approximately half a skein used)

Colour C: 4 skeins Rowan Hemp Tweed (95 m/104 y per skein), colour Granite
I only used three skeins but used the third skein to the very last drop so I would recommend having a fourth skein handy, just in case!

Colour D: 1 skein Malabrigo Rios, (192 m/210 y per skein) colour Azul Profundo
