Combining traditional Fair Isle techniques with
some “non-traditional” techniques, Bidding
Spring Arise meshes geometric Fair Isle patterns
with organic flowing colorwork patterns.
Duplicate stitch flowers allows a pop a color
to brighten up the hem and tie the elements
together.

The modified drop shoulder construction allows
for a relaxed fit, and all raw steek edges are
thoughtfully covered in the final finishing.

This was my Level 3 Master Hand Knitter
sweater design, and knitting the sweater
throughout the winter the floral themes had me
longing for spring. The name is inspired by a
poem titled “Spring” by Adelaide Anne Procter.
